Morocco travel formalities

The diversity and richness of Moroccan culture, which sometimes seems enigmatic, intrigues and captivates at the same time. In addition to its culture, its beaches, its architecture, its arts, its gastronomy and all the good things to discover on site make it an excellent tourist destination. Travel formalities to visit and stay in Morocco have been simplified so that anyone planning to spend their holidays or weekends there will have no worries. For European Union citizens, only a valid passport is required to enter Morocco, with no visa needed for stays up to 90 days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. No specific vaccinations are mandatory, but it is recommended to be up to date with routine vaccinations. The local currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), and credit cards are widely accepted in major cities and tourist areas. It is advisable to inform your bank of your travel to avoid card blocking. The official languages are Arabic and Berber, but French is widely spoken, especially in tourist areas. The time zone is GMT all year round. Travelers should respect local customs and dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. Import of alcohol is limited and subject to customs regulations. It is recommended to have travel insurance covering medical expenses and repatriation. Emergency numbers to keep: police 19, firefighters 15, SAMU 141. With these simple formalities, Morocco opens its doors to unforgettable discoveries.
