What to visit in Marrakech?

Vibrant and colorful, Marrakech is considered the most beautiful historical and cultural city to visit in Morocco. It is the oldest imperial city and the most popular tourist destination. It is also called the red city due to the dark red tint used for the construction of its ancient ramparts. The city is full of interesting things to see and excellent activities to do. Between its religious monuments, magnificent palaces and numerous museums, here are the ancestral and important places to add to your visit program: The Djemaa el Fna square is one of the first squares to discover during your stay in Marrakech. Built at the time of the Almoravids, tourists can mingle with the inhabitants to visit its many show stands, feast on succulent street food, savor glasses of fresh orange juice, admire henna tattoo artists, see snake charmers and fascinate for monkey trainers. In the evening, the square takes on even more carnival atmosphere, thanks to a multitude of street artists, musicians, dancers, storytellers and traditional water sellers. You can take a mint tea break in one of the many cafes on the edges of the square. Most with terraces offer you an impressive view to admire and watch the scenes from above.
